Tize Violet Crown was originally published some twenty years ago, and has been for nearly as many out of print. The author has often been asked to issue a new edition. The present would seem a suitable moment, and his decision to do so has been influenced not a little by a very charming book from whose pages he has realised that in Greece itself these English poems had found appre ciative readers.
