Claude Lightfoot bursts into a lively college yard with quick wit and bigger than life mischief.
In a bustling school setting, new-comer Claude Lightfoot stands out for his energy, charm, and unpredictable pranks. As he moves through recess at Milwaukee College, friends watch with mixed delight and concern, noting how he can turn a crowded yard into a scene of laughter and chase. The story follows a circle of classmates who size up this bold newcomer, share jokes, and tease one another while Claude finds his footing in a world of small adventures and big personality.
Readers meet a range of characters—friends and rivals alike—as they observe Claude’s quick wit, the dynamics of school life, and the playful schemes that spring to life in the playfully chaotic world of a late-19th-century boys’ school. The tone blends humor with the everyday challenges of growing up, set against a backdrop of friendships forged through pranks, contests, and the small dramas of classroom life.
Ideal for readers who enjoy lively school stories with a warm, humorous tone and memorable characters.
