Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the arguments for and against the practice of open communion in the Christian church. The author, a strong advocate for Open Communion, argues that despite differing views on non-essential matters, the spiritual unity of the church should override concerns over baptism. The book examines the concept of a common faith and brotherly love as the basis for Christian unity, arguing that these principles should extend to the Lord's Supper. Through a careful analysis of scripture and historical context, the author challenges the traditional view that baptism is an indispensable prerequisite for communion, highlighting the lack of clear scriptural support for this notion. By exploring the nature and purpose of the sacraments, the author demonstrates that sacramental communion should be extended to all true believers, regardless of their mode of baptism. This book is a valuable resource for fostering a deeper understanding of the principles of Christian unity and the significance of Open Communion in promoting a more inclusive and welcoming church.
