I accompany this paper with a translation of its contents, in which I have endeavored to give a faithful rendition of the origi nal. This task, however, from the free use of technical words and phrases, (which is the license of scientific description,) requires a more critical attention to linguistic analysis than the rendering of the colloquial language of one idiom into that of another.
