Excerpt from A Compendium of Gold Metallurgy (Ores): And Digest of U. S. Mining Laws, Water Rights, Desert Land Law, Etc
We offer this little volume to the mining public; especially to those, unhappily too numerous, who possess little or no knowledge of metallurgy. T 0 such 'we believe it will be of value. It is not in tended as a text - book, or for the making of experts, but to give a general idea of the scope and applica tion of metallurgical processes used in extracting gold from its ores. Hence, we omit largely the technical details - which may be found in numerous technical works and journals - giving chiefly an out line of the common commercial processes and the principles involved.
