Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book, traditionally ascribed to Luke, is a record of the earliest moments of the Christian church, and complements his earlier gospel. Tracing the history of the apostles in the wake of Christ's resurrection and ascension into heaven, the Acts of the Apostles describes their integral role in spreading Christianity. It continues the story of Jesus's life, ministry, death, and resurrection where Luke's gospel left off, taking up the narrative with Jesus's ascension into heaven and the descent of the Holy Spirit upon his followers at Pentecost. The book serves as a historical bridge between the life and teachings of Jesus and the growth of the early church, providing a vivid account of the apostles' missionary journeys, the persecution they faced, and the spread of the Christian faith throughout the Roman Empire. Through the author's meticulous documentation of the apostles' Wirken, the book offers insights into the growth, organization, and beliefs of the early Christian movement, as well as the challenges and triumphs it encountered.
