IT becomes my duty, at the opening of this session of our College, and in accordance with the request of my colleagues, to deliver an Introductory Lecture, explain ing and impressing upon you the importance Of the different branches of studies, which are comprised in a medical education.

The author impresses upon the reader the importance of each field and how they contribute to the education of a well-rounded physician. This book is significant in that it highlights the importance of a comprehensive medical education and the responsibilities that come with being a physician.
