Excerpt from The Parables of Jesus
The following papers were written in response to many requests from those who had read my former very unpretentious volume on The Miracles of Jesus, and who wished to have some of the Parables treated in a similar manner. Like the papers on the Miracles, they were origin ally published month by month in Good Words; like them, they were written under great difficulties and in the midst of other pressing work. They are, therefore, inevitably marked by the same obvious shortcomings. I hope that 'they may be read separately rather than as chapters in a consecutive book.
