Excerpt from The Chain of Gold: A Tale of Adventure on the West Coast of Ireland
I never rightly slept, and never without dreams, dreams usually of an unwelcome nature.
As I dreamed now, the jar which I had been handling just before continued to appear and re-appear in my dreams, greatly increased in size. Then it seemed to me that there were people imprisoned in it, who passionately cried to me to liberate them. The voices that cried out seemed to me to be the voices of boys. I awoke with a start and sprang to my feet, trembling violently. But for this apparently grotesque and foolish vision the present story would never have been written. This fantastic dream was for me the beginning of a new life, the first link in a chain Of events which have formed for me the strangest experience which I have ever met with.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a thrilling maritime adventure tale that follows the author's quest to locate two lost boys, as he ventures along the coast of Ireland. Steeped in the literary tradition of Edgar Allan Poe, the author's journey is filled with mysterious circumstances and strange discoveries. This quest for the lost boys is driven by a document found in a message in a bottle, leading the author on a winding path of clues that seem fantastical yet tantalizingly real. He is aided in his adventure by Sam, a boy who is as mysterious as the clues themselves, and who brings an unexpected amount of knowledge about the coast and its secrets. As the author explores, he grapples not only with the physical challenges and mysteries of the coast but also with the power of hope and the transformative nature of adventure. He ponders deeply on the nature of life and death, and explores the themes of isolation, perseverance, and the lengths one will go for those they love. This book will appeal to all readers who enjoy tales of exploration, mystery, and the enduring power of human connection.
