Excerpt from The Christian Standpoint
The earth was surveyed from a new altitude and heaven Observed from a new meridian. It only remains to note the difference that this made. It is easier to illustrate this difference than to summarize it. The New Testament is the only adequate summary - to which the thought of the Church in the early centuries, as men slowly adjusted themselves to the new universe they now beheld, is at once supplement and commentary. One or two illustrations of the effect of the new point of View must suffice.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book introduces the concept of standpoint in exploring the differences wrought by perspective. Using theological and philosophical perspectives, the author illustrates how a standpoint can be formed by tradition, experience, or a combination of both. Through accessible and relatable examples, this book provides a framework to explore the relationship between faith, reason, and the development of a Christian worldview. In the same vein as Illingworth's Reason and Revelation and Bradley's Oxford Lectures on Poetry, this book offers a unique perspective on the formation and impact of different standpoints in the Christian life. By examining various interpretations and experiences of the world, the author encourages readers to reflect on their own standpoints to deepen their understanding of themselves, their faith, and the world around them.
