The author details Raphael's progression from his early career in Florence to his arrival at the papal court, the commissions he received, his workshop practices, and his innovations and adaptations of traditional artistic styles. The book also delves into the ways in which Raphael was influenced by ancient Greek and Roman art and how he combined these influences with the Christian subject matter of his work.
