Excerpt from The Elementary Theory of Direct Current Dynamo Electric Machinery
The present book does not cover much ground, but the authors have attempted to present as logical a treatment as is possible in so elementary a work. It is of course intended to be used only as a note book accompanying a course of experimental lectures; many paragraphs require amplification, this being especially the case where the treatment is of the generally accepted type. Where however the treatment difl'ers from that usually adopted, as in the chapter on the magnetic circuit, the notes have been given more fully.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book expounds the theoretical foundations of direct current dynamo-electric machinery, with a primary focus on investigating the relationship between electric currents and magnetic fields. The author believes that to truly understand how a machine operates, one must begin with the fundamental principles and build a logical understanding from there. Key themes emerging from this framework include the investigation of magnetic field behavior when current is introduced, the concept of force on current-carrying conductors, and inductive effects. The author presents these topics in a manner that balances rigorous scientific concepts with practical, real-world applications, enabling readers to comprehend the material through a mix of theoretical and experimental approaches. The text is structured such that students can follow along with a course of experimental lectures, and it's appropriate for those new to the subject as well as those seeking to refresh their understanding of the fundamentals. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781330355312_0
