Synopsis
In a world where it is often tempting to hide our true selves, this sermon reminds us of the importance of being transparent with God. When we are open and honest with God, he is able to teach us his statutes and help us to live a life that is pleasing to him. This sermon is based on the words of the psalmist, who wrote, "I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes." Manton explains that this verse teaches us that we should be open and honest with God about our sins and our struggles. He says that we should not try to hide anything from him, because he knows our hearts anyway. This sermon was originally written by Thomas Manton in the 17th century, but it has been rewritten in modern English for a new generation of readers.

James Labadorf is a husband, father, and devote Evangelical Christian. He loves reading the Puritans. Though their message is still relevant today, the archaic language prevents a modern audience from benefiting from their wisdom. James re-writes their works so that the 21st Century Church can learn from the wisdom of the Puritans.
