Joseph N. Inungu, MD, DrPH, MPHis a professor of public health in the School of Health Sciences at Central Michigan University where he teaches several courses such as epidemiology, research methods in public health and rural health. He is currently the Director of the Master of Public Health Program. Before joining Central Michigan University (CMU), he served as the Director of Socio-behavioral research with International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI), a US-ONG based in New York. He oversaw research in southern and eastern African countries including South Africa, Zambia, Kenya and Uganda. Prior to joining IAVI, he worked as the Regional Researcher for Population Services International (PSI) to provide technical assistance and oversee the design and implementation of social marketing research in West and Central Africa as well as conduct capacity building trainings in research in participating countries. He oversaw research in Senegal, Liberia, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, and the DR Congo. The research focused on global health (HIV/AIDS, Malaria control, and WASH), and program monitoring and evaluation. Before joining PSI, he worked as a pediatrician in the Congo treating rural and underserved children from rural and impoverished communities. He has published more than 35 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He holds a Masters and a Doctor of Public health degree from Tulane University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kinshasa, DR Congo.<br /><br />Dr. Mark J.Minelli, PhD, MA, MPAis professor of public health at Central Michigan University and authority in the areas of addictions, personal growth, and drugs and the athlete. He has completed extensive research and field work concerning alcohol and other drug prevention programs and performance enhancing drugs. He is the author of nine books/educational manuals, more than 40 professional journal and magazine articles, book chapters, and has presented at many national, state and regional conferences. His books have achieved national and international sales. Through his active research agenda he has been a guest of national radio talk shows. Under his direction Central Michigan University was named a premier national university substance abuse prevention program. He has mentored many students in the completion of their thesis and doctoral dissertations of which some have led to professional journal publications. Dr. Minelli was recently named Faculty of the Year Award at Capella University 2020 were he is an adjunct professor.
