Students will learn the material through 14 comprehensible principles, which give context to the underlying theme that make the details fit together. The Third Edition emphasizes how evolution shapes organisms at the cellular level, highlighting holobionts, natural, and artificial selection. The core texts covers the complexity that arises by natural selection and adheres to the standard categories (transcription, translation, metabolism, etc.)., but the first and last chapters introduce cellular evolution and natural selection, to conclude and describe the humans' involvement in replacing natural selection with artificial selection.
