About the Author

Edward (Ted) Parks, MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopaedic specialist treating patients at Western Orthopaedics, P.C., in Denver, Colorado. He is a fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons specializing in sports medicine, advanced arthroscopic reconstruction of the knee and shoulder, hip and knee replacement, and shoulder surgery. Dr. Parks earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in biological sciences from Stanford University before earning his medical degree from Yale Medical School. He is a clinical professor at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine where he received the Outstanding Clinical Faculty Teaching Award in 2008, and he is also an instructor for the American College of Physicians. An award-winning doctor, Dr. Parks received the Top Docs award from Denver's 5280 Magazine 14 years in a row and was named one of the country's best orthopaedic surgeons twice by U.S. News and World Report.
