She conquered this impulse, however, and shut her mouth again and turned her eyes away. Miss Miggs resumed her helpful mission. "If I were a poor woman in your position," she said, " I should avoid all luxuries. I should study economy--combined, of course, with nourishment. For instance, I should buy a big beef bone."
