XeXdfirjKa after XeXoiira etc. with original initial X, Arg. peppefieva, but Att.Ion. eiprjKa after forms like eiXrjfya (55 a), Cret., El. eypafifiai = yeypafifiai, like Ion. eKrrjfiai = Att. Ke'Krrjfiai, eyvaKa in all dialects. Note also Cret. rjypafifiai, with which compare IjdeXov, rjfiovX6firjv. Active Personal Endings 138. 1. Second singular. The original primary ending-si (Skt.-si) is preserved in Hom., Syrac. iaai, also in Epid. avvridrjai, and so perhaps regularly in West Greek dialects (inscriptional examples of the second singular are, naturally, very rare), the retention of intervocalic a being due to the analogy of iaai. But in the East Greek dialects, where 3 sg. ridrjn became ridrjai (61.1), ndrj; etc., with secondary ending, were employed. Thematic epet? etc. in nearly all dialects, but there is some evidence of 4epe;, probably due to the secondary crepe;, in Cyprian (glosses of Hesych.) and Doric (Theocr. and gram.). Also-ada, starting from olada, rjada, with the original perfect ending-da, is widely used in literary Lesbian and Doric, as in Homer (n'drjada, fiakoiada, etc.). 2. Third singular. The original primary ending-ti (Skt.-ti) is preserved in West Greek ridrjn, SiScon, etc., whence East Greek Ti'drjai, SiStai. See 61.1. Thematic cpepei etc, in all dialects. 3. First plural.
