CHAP. V. 3/ the Medulla Spinalis, or Pith of the Back; and of Motion. TH E Medulla of the Brain and Cerebellum runs out in length, and descends to the Vertebraj tvhere it is to be accounted a body of nervous Fw bres, which running out of the Bones in which' hey are lodg'd, divide and distribute themselves, 11 over the Body. This Medulla is cover'd with three Membranes v or besides the Dura and Via Mater, it has a' hin tender Membrane, call'd Arachnoides, and odg'd between the other two. The Pia mater divides this Medulla into two parts, namely, the right, and the left-, and all along 'the track of the division, there's a fort of a Sinus, Tfe're markable maskable that the Vefiels and Cortical part of this medulla lie in the middle, and that the white substance is outermost. The Aura mater covers the Nerves that come forth from this medulla-, as well as those that come from the Brain.
