The solution of salts, with one grain of emetic tartar, to be taken immediately. 28th. A severe flux, with bleeding piles, are his symptoms at present. He has lived very intemperately since his discharge. He says he has a very " nasty taste" in his mouth. Let his. piles be fomented occasionally, and six leeches be applied round the inflamed parts. Let him have the ipecacuan. mixture, until it vomits him freely. Transferred to another practitioner. CASE CX. FRANCIS SEMMA. Age 40. Admitted 17th December, 1789. 18th. Cap. mist, ipecac, et tart. emet. donee ciet. vomitus. 19th. He has had attacks of fever, commencing with severe rigors, for three days successively, with a troublesome cough at night. He vomited much green stuff yesterday. The solution of salts, with two grains of emetic tartar to be taken until he be well purged: 20th. His stein, tongue, and pulse-are natural; he vomited much flime yesterday, and his stools have been white and glareous Two purging pills at bed-time, and an otince of castor-oil in the morning;--His cough was particularly troublesome last night. 21 st. The mixture of ipecacuan and emetic tartar to be taken until it mall operate well by vomit, 22d. He vomited nothing but slime; he has had three watery stools; his cough and the pain in his breast are not abated. Let him have the pectoral decoction, and a blister applied over the pained part. The antimonial anodyne draught to be taken at bed-time. 23d. The blister did not allow him so rest last night; it has discharged much.--Let it be kept open; 24th. First Quarter.
