About the Authors
Achin Chakraborty is Professor and Director at the Institute of Development Studies Kolkata, India. He has co-authored, with Anthony D'Costa, The Land Question in India: State, Dispossession, and Capitalist Transition (2017). His research interests are development economics, poverty, inequality and human development.
Subhanil Chowdhury is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Development Studies Kolkata, India. His primary research interests are labour economics and trade and development.
Supurna Banerjee is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Development Studies Kolkata, India. Her research interests are labour, migration, social space and activism.
Zaad Mahmood is Assistant Professor at Presidency University, Kolkata. His research interests are globalisation, public policy, labour and politics in India.
