Synopsis
Walter Grebe is a pompous middle-aged man with rather staid Victorian values, who has come to a point where he and his wife seem to be no longer compatible. By mutual consent he leaves home to seek a new and more inspiring life but as a result of several unfortunate incidents and involuntary involvements with ladies young and not so young, he finally realises that maybe the humdrum life he had left behind was perhaps the best he could expect. He duly returns home to resume his drab but predictable life a chastened but wiser man.
