Synopsis

Previously published as Woman Meets Gryphon by Cameron Holt.

‘But I’m just a woman. A woman who works in a shop. I sell paper for a living.’

‘Doesn’t matter.’ Greta placed a hand against her new friend’s chest. ‘You have a good heart, Jessamine. You helped me when I needed it. You’re the perfect companion to show me around this planet.’

When 27-year-old Jessamine locks up her shop for the night, the last thing she expects to encounter is a magical gryphon with telekinesis. Who could blame her? But when that very unlikely possibility becomes reality, and Greta the gryphon pleads for help in finding some lost marbles that contain the deadliest criminals in the universe, Jessamine is thrust into crazy situations she never believed were possible, full of incredible sights, epic action and characters that will change her perspective on life forever.

Will Jessamine and Greta find their true callings at last? Will they recapture those marbles before the prisoners break free? Is there going to be a big, scary dragon? Who knows? Well, I do. I always know.

This is a lean, humorous fantasy tale with science fiction elements, peppered with references to real-life myths and legends from all over the world. No matter who you are, or where you come from, this story was written to make you smile and take you on a journey you’ll never forget.
