Throughout Taylor Stewart's life, she and her family always purchased dogs from local breeders. Ever since she was a child, though, she had dreamed of adopting the oldest dog at an animal shelter and giving it the best possible life during its senior years, so it would remember a life of love and happiness rather than loneliness and sadness. That dream came true when she adopted Chaplin, the dog on whom this story is based.
