This study investigates the doctrine of command and control warfare at the tactical level of war and examines whether or not this doctrine is an appropriate activity for Army corps. The work examines the concept of command and control warfare, the applicability for the Army corps, and the use of the deliberate targeting process in directing command and control warfare activities. The corps is the first level where the United States Army constitutes a command and control warfare cell. This study examines the role of this cell in view of the capabilities of the corps and the deliberate approach to corps targeting. This study researches the aspects of command and control warfare, the command and control warfare resources available to the corps, past uses of command and control warfare, and the use of the deliberate targeting process as a means to direct command and control warfare operations. This study promotes the use of command and control warfare and asserts that while the corps is not optimally structured to conduct command and control warfare operations, that these operations may be conducted successfully by the corps using the deliberate targeting process.
