About the Authors

Oliver Skan is an ENT-themed Core Surgical Trainee in the London Deanery. He graduated from the University of Oxford in 2020, winning the Meakins McLaren medal at graduation, awarded for the highest overall performance during clinical school. He was the top-ranked candidate for national CST selection (2023), scoring 100% in his interview.

Kiran Saini is a Urology-themed Core Surgical Trainee in Thames Valley Deanery. He ranked second in the country in CST (2023), scoring 99% in his interview. He graduated from the University of Oxford in 2020, where he co-founded an international medical charity, OxPal 2.0, and won multiple academic prizes. He is the founder & president of the Royal College of Surgeons (Ed.) Core Trainee Forum.
