La Dra. Kelsi Bracmort es originaria de Washington D.C. y adora el Distrito de Columbia y la historia que éste ofrece a los niños y jóvenes de todas las edades. La Dra. Bracmort se inspiró para escribir ese libro con la esperanza de que un personaje como Simone inspirara a los pequeños a estar orgullosos de quienes son y a explorar todo cuanto les ofrece el Distrito de Columbia.
