Synopsis

The year is 1949. Two women, mortal enemies during WW II, both now work for the United States. These he has pressed upon us for years with the enigmatic Erika Lehmann, Zhanna Rogova, the Carrs, and others. He also gives us Al Hodge for comic relief which is welcome in the midst of such intense thrillers. Whicker forces us to follow and care about them all even though at times we feel their actions are questionable or downright reprehensible. This is the brand of a master storyteller--making us care about flawed characters.
