In Book 2, John has teamed up with a new writer to bring to life the stories of his missions to save mankind from its baser elements. Starting with a more in-depth description of the places and systems of the organization he came to run, John shares with us some of his most poignant mission stories, covering the entire span of his career, in which he and his team worked to stop or avenge horrific crimes, and to save countless lives. This is a unique peek into a life many of us have romanticized; something John cautions us all against in the end.
Using a pseudonym for safety reasons, Vietnam vet, John Murray, a.k.a. Papa, spent the majority of his adult life working as a covert operative sanctioned by the U.S., Canadian and various European governments. As John became a part, and then the head, of this organization in the 1970s, his life was a constant struggle between the demands of his job, and his continuous attempts at protecting some semblance of a home life for himself and the family he had started before the war. It was his, and his crew's, responsibility to 'take care' of much of the world's evil--evil that could never have come to the public's attention. Now retired, he is living in a small rural Western town. As 'normal' as he tries to live, he will always be haunted by the visions of what he saw and what he tried to prevent or rectify.

John Murray, a Viet Nam Veteren, first entered the world of covert operations by way of his friend in the Marines, Jake. Jake's father had been running a secret organization that set itself against the evils of the world ever since WWII, when the original Papa escaped the Nazis with his infant son (Jake), but not with his wife. John gets pulled into this intriguing, exciting, and often dangerous world upon his return from serving his country. As John becomes a part, and then the head of this organization in the 1970s, his life was a constant struggle between the demands of his job, and his continuous attempts at protecting some semblance of a family life for himself and the family he had already started before he knew about Papa's organization.
