Synopsis

Make no assumptions that your perspective will be mine. We may both be Southerners, both have grown up within miles of one another, gone to rival high schools within shouting distance, both had difficult first marriages, raised two children, found love at last…. …..But that doesn’t mean that we write the same stories, about the same things. Make No Assumptions is an anthology comprised of stories we wrote together. Over a year, we met every Wednesday and chose a topic. Both of us wrote whatever struck our fancy—poetry, short stories, memoir, or a combination of them all. Then we went home and feverishly developed, edited and developed some more, as all writers must. So sit back in an easy chair with a nice glass of iced tea (sweet of course), and enjoy.

About the Author

GLENDA MACE KOTCHISH Glenda Kotchish owns an art center in Richmond, Virginia where every month there’s a party with new artwork, food and wine. How fun is that! She has a banking and IT background and found herself illustrating some quite boring documents to make them, well less boring. She writes about everything because, everything can be a story. She loves short stories and believes that someday they may weave themselves into a novel. Favorite short story author: Neil Gaiman. “He's amazing.” JANE ELLEN HOLLIDAY WILSON Jane Wilson is a philanthropic thought partner, which means, she helps philanthropists consider how best to use their various resources of time, talent, influence and money. Janie has a mantra that she likes to use: kindness+courage+gratitude=abundance. Isn’t that what we all crave—an abundant life? Her abundant life has been full of so many things; an early career in interior space planning and design; two beautiful daughters off doing interesting things with their lives; a second career in the social sector; and a second family that includes four more delightful young adults (and of course their fabulous father). In the midst of all of this, she began to write fiction, poetry, memoir and so forth. “It just came over me like a gentle spring storm.” She has a novel and two novellas in the works, along with an anthology about wandering with her parents through their many years of dementia.
