Drawing on five case studies and original research, the author presents a practical framework for AI project teams to identify affected stakeholders, assess potential harms, and establish governance structures that clarify responsibility across the full lifecycle of an AI system. The book introduces tools including a stakeholder responsibility workshop, a harm taxonomy, and a lifecycle-weighted scoring model.

About the Author

Gloria J. Miller, DBA, is an international expert in AI governance, stakeholder accountability, and complex IT transformation. With over two decades leading large-scale digital initiatives across industries, she developed this framework to give practitioners governance tools traditional project models do not provide. Her research on accountability in AI projects-drawing on multiple published studies and survey data from more than 300 practitioners in the United States, Germany, China, and South Africa-directly informs the framework presented in this book.
