Synopsis

Wake up and win, America, among other things, endeavors to promote soccer in the United States. It encourages victory in international soccer contests, using the guiding story of a married couple, Steve and Carol Bloom, who vacationed in Atlanta Georgia to watch the 1996 soccer Olympics. This eventful vacation remains a memorable experience for Steve and Carol, whose infectious love for soccer attracted discussions over this beautiful sport from other American soccer fans. Some of these persons suddenly developed their own love for soccer and even joined groups of discussants to reflect on the state of soccer in the nation. Discussants consist of other soccer enthusiasts, coaches and celebrities of varied description. Their discussions include assessments, constructive criticisms and recommendations for the improvement of the men's national soccer team. The comic section of book, of course, should not be overlooked. This title and creative project is based on soccer, but the reader will discover that it is larger than soccer. It encourages resilience, hard work, unity in diversity and, above all, victory.
