Synopsis

This Novel is a labor of love and discovery for Sue L. Adkins who researched her family and the Stringtown plantation where they came from. She listened to the stories her great grandmother told and paid attention to the life her mother “Red” lived. Her mother and two sisters were abandoned by their father after killing their mother in a domestic violence altercation. They were 8, 5 and 2 years of age. Their grandmother retrieved and raised them. This story is about her family but it is the story of many American families in the south.
