Imagine -- a friendship between a man and rare bird that helped the Whooping Cranes survive extinction!
Not only is the story true, but the beautifully illustrated "Teacher's Guide: Dancing With Tex" provides numerous educational activities for teachers and families to reinforce knowledge about our environment, science, endangered species and life values.
Created by a master teacher, Syeita Rhey-Fisher and edited by Amazon best-selling author, Lynn Sanders, The Teacher's Guide expands on the environmental concepts within the children's picture book, "Dancing With Tex: The Remarkable Friendship To Save The Whooping Cranes."
Teachers, families and children of ages 6-9 will love the wide spectrum of activities, based on the true friendship between Tex, a rare Whooping Crane and George Archibald, co-founder of The International Crane Foundation.
George is determined to save all the cranes. Tex, a rare Whooping Crane from Texas, believes she belongs with people. Together, George and Tex become dancing partners to help Tex lay a fertile egg. Their friendship demonstrates the power of faith, belief and perseverance. Will their hard work and perseverance pay off?
Included are activities aligned to the common core standards. It also contains "I can" statements in student friendly language. Student sample worksheets are an added bonus.
