About the Author

Kat Hoke is a retired veteran who makes her home in the Croatan Forest, with her husband, one dog, one cat, a backyard full of birds, and a garage full of bugs. She has traveled extensively, and lived in Europe and the Middle East in addition to several places of the US. Benny has been a product of her imagination nearly 30 years in the making (and one of her daughter’s favorite stories), but he didn’t actually have a “home” until she settled in New Bern, NC in 2005.
