This is a story guide for children with a loved one who has Alzheimer’s disease in the Mild-Severe Stages. It is difficult for children to understand how to convey the expression of their love for this person. From this story, they will learn ways in how to effectively apply their expressions of love. We suggest that you use this story to discuss how they can share their love expression. To identify why it is import to find a way to show that we care about this person. Equally important is that the child knows; “God smiles upon their efforts”. Take this time to teach, that we love without the expectation of a returned emotion. I lived this experience from a personal condition for several months. I had dementia and all of its impact. From living in an Alzheimer’s ward I am today a volunteer with Witt’s End Consulting, LLC.
