Synopsis

"A fable, according to the dictionary, is a narrative, a text about an object or a being, but it is also a conversation. A dialogue like the one that unfolds between word and image... However, speech ("habla" in Spanish) is also derived from the Latin word "fabula". Fable is above all the speech of the world. A memory, crossed by the presence of friends and experiences, but above all an insistence, against all hope. Look again, say again." Edmundo Garrido

"With their gnomic adages, their vernacular quotations, their paradoxes and puns, the poems seem as though they might have been written anywhere. They don't delineate any particular geography apart from the poet's own mind: his memory of friends, incidents, sentences, and literary allusions. As such, the poems form a kind of traveling world, a poetic companionship, a mode of thinking." Forrest Gander
