About the Author

Eugene T Schurter lives on the West End of Galveston Island in Texas with his wife, Christy, and their miniature schnauzer, Desperado. This is where his words flow forth, as he looks out his window onto Galveston Bay. An award-winning engineer, business author, entrepreneur, applied technologist, and conference speaker, Eugene’s love for science fiction, fantasy, and other genres began in middle school where he read over half of the school library’s repertoire of fiction books. One of his fondest memories is reading The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings to his daughter for her bedtime stories when she was five. Eugene loves to create and tell stories to entertain, while exploring bold ideas and creative possibility. He likes to challenge our perception of reality and speculate on how advances in human intelligence and science can open new worlds and increase understanding of this thing we call the Human Experience. He often incorporates unique, personal experiences into his writing with Dark Web Rising drawing numerous elements from his experience as President of CIP Core, Inc. a non-profit educational organization focused on Cyber Security and the Operational Reliability of the North America Bulk Electric System. In this role, he deals with the seamy underworld of malicious hacking and cyber terrorism daily. The Elastic Society Theory is the current series he is working on. Genesis II, the second book in the series is due for release in the spring of 2018.
