9780997106305: Hock E. Puck Meets Hock E. Stick

Synopsis

Hock E. Puck Meets Hock E. Stick is filled with awesome messages about good sportsmanship, working hard to make goals a reality, the value of teamwork, the importance of friendship and the concept of "friends as family," which can be beneficial to children who do not have large extended families or "traditional" families.
Hock E. Puck has no hockey stick, no relatives, and no family to speak of, experiences bullying from the other inhabitants of the sporting goods store, and gets relegated to the "Bargain Bin." Hock E. Puck is eventually purchased by a messy sticky kid for 25 cents and gets smeared with peanut butter, candy, bubble gum and fresh cut grass. Adding insult to injury, the messy kid's mother sells Hock E. Puck at a garage sale for 10 cents.
The little Puck's next new family is worse than the last one and Hock E. Puck narrowly escapes being eaten by the family dog, only to get whisked away by the street cleaner to the city dump, for more bullying and name-calling. After what seems like an eternity, Hock E. Puck meets Hock E Stick, an orphaned hockey stick who was thrown out by the stick factory because of a small paint blemish.
Hock E. Stick helps Hock E. Puck move to the hospital for repairs and sets up a sweet little home sweet home for both of them in an alley behind The True Blue Hockey Crew stadium, where they are eventually discovered by a famous goalie named "Blue Blocker".
Hock E. Puck, Hock E. Stick and Blue Blocker soon discover they need each other BOTH on the ice and off the ice.
