Synopsis
Moving to a new town is nerve-wracking at the best of times, but for Holly Atwood, it’s downright scary! Along with her new friend, Charlie, Holly hears stories of people vanishing into thin air and animals behaving curiously. Suspicions are magnified when Holly discovers the story of a bizarre flash of light and the appearance of a crop circle in a local corn field. An Elaborate, Fun, Fantasy Tale for Middle Grade Children "Run, Holly, Run," by Walter Rouzer, is a delightful middle grade novel that pulls the reader into a fun-filled fantasy world that is part ghost story, part fantasy fiction, part slapstick comedy, part science fiction, and part modern-day Jack-and-the-Beanstalk fair tale. As the book's subtitle claims, it's also a mystery-suspense thriller and a humorous, detective-spy-adventure story. Wow! That's one complex and ambitious plot, right? But, believe me, it works nicely in practice. - B. Case Fantastical, Genre-Bending Novel Run Holly Run is a fast-paced, atmospheric novel in the same vein as Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys. With it's mix of suspense, comedy and sci-fi, the novel seems to offer something for everyone depending on your taste. There's also good-hearted fun and a sense of innocence that is a nice change of pace from all the dystopian/vampire fiction purveying the market, especially targeted toward younger readers.
