Synopsis

A tragic accident claims the life of a Texas Supreme Court justice, leaving a coveted seat open on the bench.

District Court Judge Torie Van Fleet, who has overcome her own harrowing past, is now a successful and determined figure in the legal world. She dreams of advancing to a higher court, believing she can make a significant impact. However, when she applies for the appointment to the Texas Supreme Court, she faces unexpected opposition and conflict.

Torie’s husband, Sergio, who had once agreed to a child-free marriage, now asks her to reconsider. He hopes they can have just one baby, suggesting she could pursue her Supreme Court ambitions later.

Seeking advice from her best friend, Torie is shocked to learn that Beth has also applied for the same position. As the competition heats up, their friendship is put to the ultimate test.

Meanwhile, Torie’s constituents feel betrayed, convinced that she’s abandoning them for personal gain. Despite her assurances, they struggle to see how her advancement could benefit their district.

As Torie delves deeper into her campaign, she discovers that those supporting her have their own expectations, demanding favors in return for their backing. Now, Torie must confront her true priorities and decide what matters most—or risk losing everything.
