Synopsis

Jamie Higgins has a problem. The new boy in her class, Brad Lugsley, keeps picking on her...FOR NO REASON! Can Jamie solve this problem without getting into trouble? And will she make a new friend in the process?

In this animated, heart-warming story, Jamie Higgins comes up with a clever and comical way to deal with a classroom bully, Brad Lugsley, without being mean. Although the word bullying is never mentioned in the text, there are subtle no bullying messages throughout the book on classroom and hallway poster illustrations. As well, the repeated words for no reason take on many different meanings in the story depending on the font and setting. At the end of the book, there are creative activities to engage readers and get them thinking about their own experiences and how they might handle a bullying situation.

This book will delight young readers with its colourful, realistic characters and also encourage them to use their creativity to solve problems in positive ways.
