Of interest to historians and those who know and love York, the map charts the process of renewal and development which has shaped one of England’s most important cities.

About the Author

Dr Peter Addyman was the Director of York Archaeological Trust from 1972 until 2002. A distinguished archaeologist, Peter Addyman has written many books, with York featuring widely in them, including books on the Coppergate Helmet and Viking Jorvik. He is much in demand as lecturer on the history and archaeology of York. He is the editor of the British Historic Towns Atlas volume on York.
