    About the Author

Jules Horne is an award-winning Scottish writer of chilling Gothic tales with a stubborn vein of dark humour. She loves the writing of Angela Carter, Mervyn Peake, Margaret Atwood, Ray Bradbury and Patrick Suskind, and referencing them in her biog. Her "funny, muddy" plays have been performed outdoors during the Edinburgh Festival, won Fringe First awards and appeared on BBC radio. She's an ex-BBC journalist and teaches for the Open University, when she's not writing books that might appeal to fans of Ray Bradbury, Angela Carter and Margaret Atwood. She lives in the blurred national boundary land of the Scottish Borders - home of ballads, the supernatural and Scottish Gothic stories like these. She also speaks good German and bad French, and plays the low whistle.
