About the Author

Joyce Ragland is the author of more than one hundred academic publications including two books and various professional articles, in addition to short stories and poetry. Her latest book, Dread the FRED, takes her back to her Conway Missouri high school alma mater. Ragland holds a BA in Music; MA and Ed.D. in Education-Administration. After a career as teacher, professor, assistant dean, she is devoting time to her lifelong love of creative writing. Joyce is founder and president of the Ella RaglandArt charity and raises funds for local Alzheimer patient projects. She resides in Springfield, Missouri with a companion, Bessie Jo, a short haired Border Collie.
