Synopsis

Mourning Moon Rising follows brothers Alvaro and Gus as the only remaining members of their contemporaneous Southwest Texas Mexican-American family teeters on collapse. Gus has married an illegal immigrant woman, Perfidia, half his age. Younger brother, Alvaro, continues to distribute their Corriente steers to rodeos throughout the southwest. But much to Gus’ dismay, Alvaro has also been distributing something far more dangerous, supplied by the Mexican drug cartel just across the Rio Grande River from their ranch. When Alvaro comes up short of money owed the cartel, these drug lords ignore the river border and the evil literally bleeds across into Texas.
