Ziva Marie is excited that her little brother is finally big enough to help with the farm chores. When she realizes he is too short to walk along the fence to feed the pigs, she devises a solution to make him taller and walk too! She discovers that engineers help people walk, and decides that is what she wants to be. About the Author
An Engineer, A Teacher, & An Artist: Sisters, Cheryl and Judy Cunningham, share a passion for positively influencing children and youth. As a professional engineer, Cheryl (the engineer) wanted to introduce the fun and excitement of engineering by demonstrating that problem solving in everyday activities is what engineers do! As an educator, literacy advocate, and writer Judy (the teacher) joined the team to create stories about engineering for young children. Judy’s daughter, Jill VanMatre (the artist), captured the essence of the stories with sketch, watercolor, and technology.
