Unknown to the woodland creatures of the Northwestern Forests, a well-meaning human scientist tried a devastating fracking experiment. While he wanted to prevent and reverse Climate Change, he ended up altering the Earth's Tilt instead. As a result of more errors and miscalculations, he ended up sickening a great number of animals. And he froze the Woodlands into a Permanent Winter. Realizing Spring is delayed, two Northwest Woods river-otters, Roby and Margarita--best friends--become alarmed. They abandon their traditional winter games and frolics, and decide instead to take action. They consult with an owl, a groundhog, and their local Council of Animals, to learn best how to proceed. They thus begin their Search for Spring, making helpful Friends all along the way. They encounter Magical Beings born of the Earth, Supernatural Intelligences; they meet a Misguided and Errant Soul; and they discover Where It All Went Wrong. But, at the last, are they too tiny and helpless? Can two, small, playful river-otters return the Earth's Songs of Spring?
