About the Author

Not everyone needs therapy, but we all love a good book. Rhoda Berlin and Harriet Cannon are writers and licensed marriage and family therapists with over 50 years combined professional experience specializing in multicultural work. They were looking for resources to help multicultural couples, couldn’t find any good ones, so they wrote one themselves. Harriet Cannon, MC, LMFT, LMHC received her master’s degree in 1985. Ms. Cannon lived and worked as a clinician and cross-cultural trainer in South America for many years gaining rich, personal experiences and navigating marital and family issues while raising children in a different culture. Rhoda Berlin, MS, LMFT received her master’s degree in 1987. She specializes in working with interracial adoptees, multiethnic young adults, couples and families. Rhoda is a second generation Korean-American who lived and studied in Europe, and has raised three children in a multicultural, multiethnic family.
