Synopsis
Fiction. Art. AMERICAN HOMES incorporates poetry, prose, and various schematic devices, including dozens of illustrations by Jacob Heustis, to create a cracked narrative of the homes we pretend to live in. Pieces from AMERICAN HOMES have been published in Artifice, DIAGRAM, The Collagist, The Mississippi Review, Salt Hill, and elsewhere. An excerpt from AMERICAN HOMES also took second place in the sixth annual Italo Calvino Prize in Fabulist Fiction, as judged by Ben Marcus.

Review
"Ridge's book explores the contradictions inherent in ideals of affluence and ownership, and does so admirably, without edging into sourness or satirical revenge killing. The humor is affable, and odd. Somewhere between Demetri Martin and Steven Wright, Jacques Tati and Wes Anderson, Ramon Gomez de la Serna and Georges Perec."
